 ;\nSpeaker\n\nProf. Dr. Ph. A.E.G. Philippe Delespaul (1958)\nis full prof
 essor in Innovation in Mental Health Care at the University of Maastricht 
 (Department of Psychiatry and Neuropsychology). He is a clinical psycholog
 ist at the Mondriaan Mental Health Trust in Maastricht/Heerlen (The Nether
 lands) and advises the direction and the regional stakeholders about care 
 innovations.\nHe is board member of the national quality monitoring instit
 ute for ambulatory mental health care (CCAF) and the Global Initiative on 
 Psychiatry (Benelux chapter). He worked in residential and ambulatory care
 \, primarily with a focus on severe mental health and developed the PsyMat
 e™ method to assess the daily life of disabled individuals.\nHe is one of 
 the initiators of the Dutch New Mental Health Movement and focuses on huma
 n right monitoring for this population. He has published 2 books\, more th
 an 50 chapters in edited books and over 200 peer reviewed international pa
 pers.\nAbstract\nResearch on brain behavior and psychopharmacology is stag
 nating. We better understand the process of psychosis but fail to provide 
 innovative medication and miracle cures. This is frustrating for researche
 rs and clinicians\, but even more for patients and their family. Meanwhile
 \, the focus shifts from fixing the illness\, towards managing vulnerabili
 ty and developing resilience.\nThe recovery movement reframes our approach
  to psychotic illness quick-fix cure towards process care. It makes clear 
 that qualitative living is possible\, irrespective of psychosis. The proce
 ss is hope-driven and has an open future. It offers new hope for patients
